My little girl, now 6.5 months old, was born with really bad reflux and cmpa. It took 3 months for that to be diagnosed and under management. During that time, her life, my own and my husband's were really really difficult (...putting it mildly). Her sleep was broken due to discomfort, naps were no longer than 20 minutes, we'd long days of her screaming in pain and puking, she latched very poorly due to pain and I ended up with a very painful breast abscess. So my 2 year old has never slept through the night that I can remember anyway! Still screaming for bottles through the night we always caved we’ve both to work and the 4 year old needs to be rested for playschool….. ANYWAY got your book night 3 was the last night bottle downstairs he was calm getting into the cot at 6.30pm asleep by 6.45pm (this was never an issue he just woke up screaming for a bottle from 11pm on) he slept through until 6.15am so thank you Lucy hope it lasts!

I thought we’d never get here but it was actually much easier than I was anticipating.

Your book is fantastic. We have a very refluxy baby whom we held to sleep for all naps and all nights for four months straight to prevent spit up. After reading and using the daily nap and feed schedule and stay and support at night, our now 5 month old is sleeping in her own crib, up to 9 hours in a row at night and 2 full naps during the day with a short 3rd nap later in the day. I just want to say thank you, when I contacted you our little one was too young for you to consult with us. While I waited for him to turn 6 months I bought your book. A few months ago we had a 9 month old baby who was sleeping in our bed and breastfeeding all night, now we had a baby who sleeps in his own bed and only feeds once at 4am and then goes back to sleep after. Hi Lucy, I have finally got around to reading the age appropriate parts of your book! Honestly it is so refreshing to read a book that is non-judgemental and encourages parents to do what they feel is right. For me, breastfeeding is a really sore point as I wasn’t able to do it after a traumatic birth. 2 days into the schedule my 8 month old daughter went from waking up up to 10 times a night max 2 now and mostly not waking at all. We were at our wits end with the lack of sleep. We are 2 weeks in. Hi, I just wanted to let you know that since following your book, my 6 and a half month old now self settles to sleep with no fuss when we place her in her cot for the night.
