Some time by 8 months plus transition to 2 naps is appropriate for many young children and as this unfold it can leave the day top heavy, with a long gap before bedtime that can promote overtiredness or an early bedtime that may invite an early wake time leaving you feel a bit caught. Do not worry, this is very normal, and it has to happen as you child biologically is capable of staying awake longer before the end of the day- just not too long though so that they find going and staying asleep hard. It is at this stage, if you have not already, I would move away from wake windows and more towards a time on the clock. For the first week, move the start of nap one by 10 minute each day and bring bedtime earlier to compensate. Once nap 1 is after 9am, push nap 2 to start no earlier than 1.30/2pm, as you do this, move back to your typical bedtime of probably about 7pm. Now you are established on 2 naps and have created the best balance between all the considerations.
