Lucy is excellent at what she does and has saved our sanity twice now – once when our daughter was 7 months old and waking several times in the night. We implemented the advice from Lucy’s books and it worked amazingly. More recently we instructed her on a one to one basis as we needed a more tailored approach with our 14 month old whose night sleeping and early waking had become really challenging.
What I love about Lucy’s approach is that it is child-led, gentle, and actually works, without the need for ‘cry-it-out’. If anyone is feeling desperate but is not comfortable with the cry-it-out method, I would strongly urge you to speak to Lucy and read her books. Within two weeks of working together our daughter’s sleep had improved dramatically. Lucy’s vast knowledge and experience is really impressive. She was able to identify some key points straight away from our history – For example our daughter was displaying signs of being overtired – and she implemented a plan which aimed to tackle this whilst also teaching her to fall asleep on her own. We never felt uncomfortable because we only made gradual changes. We saw our daughter’s nights become undisturbed and her early waking went from 5.30am to 7! Another huge thing for me was that putting my daughter down to sleep had become so stressful for me and her because she was so upset going into her cot. I had come to dread it. Now, bedtimes are calm and relaxed and usually without any tears. I actually look forward to it now! Obviously teething and illness will always be a risk but we have learned that our daughter’s sleep always returns if you can stick to your routine as much as possible during any illness. Lucy is sensitive and reassuring and always approachable. We can’t thank her enough for transforming our daughter’s (and our) sleep!’
