‘As I write this, there is the sweet sound of a silent sleeping baby – something almost unthinkable a few weeks ago… At 6 months our baby’s sleep was pretty chaotic and he woke frequently throughout the night, probably in part due to our fear of being tied down by a routine. We were exhausted and starting to quickly lose the adrenalin which had fueled us the first 6 months. We had read most of the main sleep guru books and couldn’t imagine what benefits could flow from yet another set of competing theories. But friends said Lucy was a miracle-worker and we were desperate so we parked our scepticism.
