We no longer dread bedtime or feel overwhelmed by it all.

I’m not going to lie, when my husband suggested that we contact Lucy I resisted, big time. I felt like I should be able to teach my son how to sleep. The day we finally decided to get in touch with her was a low point for me.That sense of failure, so wrongly associated with asking for help, was weighing heavy on me. For months on end, 15 month old A was waking 3-4 times a night, needing one of us to rock him back to sleep (often unsuccessfully) and waking earlier and earlier, ready to start the day. Bad nights involved him waking every hour. All 3 of us were sleep-deprived, irritable and struggling. Ours was not a happy home.

Enter Lucy Wolfe. Lucy is the consummate professional, she really knows her stuff and brings so much confidence to the situation backed by a whole lot of experience. Her personalized plan set out for A involved a lot of tweaking of his routine. The biggest change was at bedtime. We had used the ‘Ferber method’ when A was 5 months old and it worked initially. But the changes never lasted through teething or illness. Lucy’s approach was so much more gentle & soothing. We felt far more comfortable with it. Consistency was key as we began to understand all 3 of us needed to be trained to make this happen. Lucy was on the other end of the phone for further tweaking, advice & support. Gradually we taught him how to soothe himself to sleep. Within 1-2 weeks he was sleeping 10 hours straight. We couldn’t believe it. I had really believed that A would be the exception to her great success rate! I couldn’t be happier to have been wrong.

5 weeks later and A is doing at least 10 hours on a ‘bad night’ (during a current bout of teething) and on good nights it’s 11-11.5 hours! He also transitioned to one nap per day during the process. He now naps for 2 hours most days. The value of good sleep cannot be over-stated. A is a much happier child, his appetite has improved and he is a joy to be around. We no longer dread bedtime or feel overwhelmed by it all. We are confident that we know what to do when changes & challenges arise. We feel like we have gotten our happy family back.

Now, when I look back, I’m proud of my husband and I for asking Lucy for help. Help that we so desperately needed, that she was most able and willing to provide and which has honestly changed our lives. We cannot thank her enough for this. My one piece of advice to anybody reading this: If you’re thinking of contacting Lucy, don’t put it off, do it NOW.
