We still cannot believe how successful the sleep training with Lucy was and the absolute change it’s had on our lives. Our baby was being fed to sleep, and that worked for us for a while until it didn’t.. Don’t even get me started on the stress of the dreaded transfer into the cot. I was absolutely exhausted feeding her up to every 45 minutes to 2 hours at night, and just did not have enough energy to enjoy my time with her and I also began to resent being constantly trapped under the baby breastfeeding so much….

Within a night of starting to work with Lucy, our baby was able to go into her cot to fall asleep instead of in my arms. It took time with her in the nursery to get to sleep, but the shift from breastfeeding to sleep to falling asleep in the cot was immediate. She was sleeping through the night within 2 weeks. Now, there is literally no stress around sleep times whether for naps or at night. The routine takes 5 minutes at nap time and 15 minutes at bed time, and we can just put her in her cot and leave the nursery, and she happily falls asleep. The sleep cues that Lucy has taught us, coupled with timing her sleep properly, mean that it is easy for us to trigger her sleep signals. We know there will be sleep regressions and teething and illness, but we learned skills that we can use at any time, anywhere, and as often as needed.

Now I can eat a hot dinner, have a glass of wine with my meal, let the grandparents look after the baby for the night – the freedom is amazing, and best of all, our baby is well slept and very happy!
