Our twin girls were 10 months old and still not sleeping through the night or having a good daytime routine. While it was relatively easy to get them both to bed at 7pm, they each woke at least once during the night for a bottle so it was a race to get to the crying baby before she woke her twin! By day, they usually slept at different times and there was no routine to their day.
We deliberated for a few months about hiring Lucy as we were sceptical about spending the money as we hoped that we could solve the problem ourselves so tried the cry-outs etc. but with no success. There was always some excuse not to carry it through – illness, poor willpower etc.
So having read the testimonials (yet again) on Lucy’s website we decided to go for it and we are so happy we did!
Within 3 nights both babies were sleeping through the night and we had broken the bottle habit! Getting the daytime naps right was much harder and there was a lot of trial and error with this but we had some distractions thrown in like a holiday, the vomiting bug, one baby having repeated ear infections etc. However we stuck at it and after about 4-5 weeks the daytime naps got much better. (It was easier to deal with this once they were sleeping through the night!).
Now, a few months on, the babies are sleeping from 7pm to 6/7am and even sleep through with illness (ear infections is our usual complaint!). They nap well by day too and nap at the same time allowing us to have some “baby-free” time.
We found Lucy’s help to be invaluable. She gave us a very detailed plan and some great and practical tips. While the daytime plan was more difficult to get right, through her phonecalls she tweaked the plan and gave new advice on how to deal with any new changes in their sleeping routines. The follow-up advice was great! And it was great that the phone-calls were spread over the subsequent weeks and Lucy didn’t close off our case until we had finally got it right.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Lucy and only regret that we didn’t hire Lucy sooner.
