“My daughter’s sleep was a rollercoaster from 4 months and by the time she was 18 months we rarely had a consistent run of ‘good nights’. In fact it was usually a guarantee that we would be up at least twice, sometimes 3,4, or even more times. Even though the wake ups were typically short, our sleep was so disrupted, I had returned to work and was never so depleted in my life, I didn’t have the resources within me to tackle this without professional help and my good friend told me that I needed to ‘gift’ this to myself. I took her advice and I contacted Lucy having followed her book with my older child. We worked with Lucy over a couple of months and for us the approach was very gentle and generally my daughter responded positively. When you are so tired you are afraid to make any changes even though often you know what you are doing is probably reinforcing the waking, but you’re lost and exhausted! Lucy was able to support us through making the necessary changes and provided guidance and reassurance along the way. We saw improvements quite quickly and within 3 weeks or so we started seeing full nights of sleep. This began to restore us and as we met bumps along the way, like sickness and teething we were more equipped to deal with it. I had been waiting and waiting for the sleep to improve and kept telling myself that it would, ‘once we night weaned’, ‘once she started walking’, ‘once she started talking’, ‘as soon as she is over this cold or bout of teething’, and it never did. I’m so happy I reached out to Lucy and just got the support we needed, my daughter’s sleep has improved immensely and this has made a huge difference to our family.”
